Homecoming Weekend

October 5th & 6th

Homecoming weekend doesn't normally look any different for us then any other weekend. We normally have people come in town to watch the game, a football game and hanging out. But this weekend felt different for a bunch of different reasons.

Thursday night we had one of Jed's old students and her finance, Stefanie & Rob, stay with us. They live in Colorado now and on Wednesday night and drove all night and day to get to Blacksburg in time to have dinner with his sister and crash with us that night. They were exhausted but some how the four of us laughed and told stories, caught up on life and just relaxed til way to late!

Friday we got a call from another one of Jed's old students, Mike, and we spent the evening at TOTS catching up with him and a ton of others.

Saturday was a whirlwind. It was the typical tailgating and successful football game. We had MacKenzie's family at the tailgate and I think all we did was all huge out with her adorable little niece. She did a great job at the tailgate and the game.

In the spirit of Homecoming, ANOTHER one of Jed's old students, Catherine, showed up at the tailgate. It was such a surprise she came to find us and really great to catch up with her.

I have felt like I take the same pictures at all the football games so I tried to find things and different angles so I wasn't posting the same things over and over again.

After the game, we quickly changed and got in the car to head to Fincastle for Stefanie and Rob's wedding. We made it in time for the reception and I am so glad we went.

One of Stefanie's maids of honor was yet another one of Jed's old students, Amanda, and it was so great to catch up with her, met her finance and laugh and cry at the toast she gave.

I am so glad we had the chance to go and be a part of it all.

Sunday we pulled out the tailgate stuff again and met up with Peter, Amy and the kids in Salem and enjoyed the weather and friends.

It was a great weekend. One I won't soon forget.
