An Uber Fantastic Weekend

September 26th - 29th

This weekend got started early! The Hokies played Georgia Tech on Thursday night down in Atlanta. I watched the game with Megan & Danielle and a few other friends. I was clearly the comic relief as I spent the entire game pacing, yelling, jumping and just being ridiculous. I just can't help it. The Hokies left Atlanta this time with a win again GT 17-10.

On Friday, Jed had the day off so I took the day too to enjoy hanging out and finding adventure. We slept in for a bit and then headed to Carol Lee's for breakfast. After some awesome donuts, we headed south to Mount Airy, NC. Mount Airy is home to Mayberry Days. It is a long weekend of celebrating Andy Griffith and the Andy Griffith Show that was based on his home town there.

We had a great time walking around and checking out the cute little town. They had old school cop cars giving tours, live music and tons of shops and restaurants. We made it to see Floyd the Barber, got a few pictures of the famous Snappy's restaurant and walked down to the old gas station where they had great music.

Lunch was at Barney's Grill and we found a few things to take back home with us to remember our trip. After a late lunch, it was time to continue our road trip south. We were in search of High School football. We found the battle of the undefeated's with Orange vs Northwood in Pittsboro, NC.

Oh my gosh, it was so fun. It was fun to watch a game and see how different it is. Listen to all the parents talking and cheering and seeing the high school band. Orange won the game and gave Northwood there first loss of the season.

After dinner we headed to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and called it a night somewhere outside of Raleigh. In the morning, we headed down to Charlotte to meet the newest member of the family.

Emmanuel got here on Tuesday and we were both so excited to get to come down this weekend to see him.

We spend Saturday & Sunday just hanging out with the family making fun memories.

Jed and I got to have some time with his mom on our way home as we took a slight detour to Richmond so his mom could spend some time with her sister this week. It was great to have the time to catch up and hear all about her adventures.
