An Exciting, Unexpected Road Trip

December 3

Our boys did it! We are off to the ACC Championship in Orlando, FL to take on the Clemson Tigers. With less then a week and no time off, I had very little expectation of making the trip down to Orlando. Really wanting to go, I asked a few non sports girl friends if they would be up for a road trip. Much to my surprise, a few days later we were on the road for a super quick road trip.

We left late on Friday evening with the expectation of just seeing how far we could make it. Along the way, we made a dinner stop at Maurice's Piggie Park for dinner.

We made it all the way to just outside Savannah before we called it a night. In the morning, we decided we had some time to head into Savannah for breakfast and a quick drive through the city.

While we were in Savannah, we found a cute place called the Sentient Bean for breakfast and just outside breakfast was an adorable farmers market that we walked around and enjoyed the park area.

It wasn't a long stop but it was a great way to start the day before making it as far as St Augustine, FL. We had sometime before we met up with friends in Orlando so we stopped for lunch at Burrito Works: Taco Shop.

After lunch, we were able to walk around and check out the cute town before our final leg.

Jimmy & Kim were gracious enough to take us in and tour us around in Orlando once we made it down there. We didn't wait long before were hopped in another car and headed downtown to check out all the festivities before the game.

The game was great and we were so proud of our boys but we came us just a little short in the end and lost 35-42.

We crashed in Orlando for the night and first thing the next morning, we stopped for a longer then expected breakfast at Cozee Cafe and powered through the rest of the day to make it home that night.

It was so fun to find friends that are willing to blindly hop in a car for hours on end just to hang out, laugh, cry and talk with random stops and a football game. I am sure there will be more road trips in our future. Thanks Sam & Sonya for the adventure!
Lil Hokiebird made a new friend, Wally on the trip!
