A Rocky Weekend

September 28th - 30th

This weekend we headed up to DC for quick trip to watch the Hokies play Cincinnati. We stayed in Silver Spring on Friday night right across the street from the team hotel. We had a great night as we met up with Jed and all his coworkers that made the trip at Austin Grill. It was a really neat downtown area and we had a good time just hanging out. Jed even called our friends we made in China, Dave and Gina and Dave joined us for a drink. He even brought his pictures to show us so we could relive some of the experiences. It was really fun.

Saturday morning Jed and I got up and out early and went to go visit our friends, Jordan and Charlotte. They just had a little girl, Anna, a few weeks ago so we went for breakfast and meet there new addition. On our way back to Silver Spring, we drove by my old apartment. It is a good thing we had the GPS cause I wasn't able to remember how to get there! How sad. Many things were different but a lot was the same. At least the way I remember it from many, many years ago.

After our quick trip to visit with friends, it was game time. So I dropped off Jed at his hotel and picked up my partner in crime, Danielle to head down to the stadium for some tailgating. We ran into some friends we see at all the home games and visited with them before heading to find my mom, Cindi, Kelly and Adam. Kelly & Adam did an amazing job with there tailgate. So much food!

We had a great time hanging out, laughing and making new friends but before we knew it, it was time to meet up with some old friends and head into the game.

The game was a tough one. And pretty unreal. It was great to see Brian, Alayna and Erik and catch up between plays. But that is never a fun ride home after a loss especially a lost like that. The punchline for those that don't watch, we took the lead with 1:49 seconds left in the game. Cincinnati scored with 0:13 seconds left in the game. Ugh... But tomorrow is a new day with lots of stuff going on.

Sunday we had a surprise party to throw. Lisa and I put together a 40th surprise party for our friend, Danielle. (Different Danielle then my game day partner in crime.) It was in Pearisburg and quite an adventure just to get to the location. But Lisa and I tackled it like pro's and had a great time.

Happy Birthday Danielle!
