Pumpkins & Fall Leaves

October 17th - 19th

A weekend at home! So why blog it, cause we did so much fun stuff. I love fall and the changing leaves, the smell of wood stoves. It is great. The weekend started off with work and Jed let me tag along to the Men's soccer game.

After the game, Joel, Leigh and the kids arrived at our place to hang out for the weekend. On Saturday we cooked a big breakfast, hung out, Jed headed to work and in the afternoon, we head off to Joe's Trees to check out there fall festival.

We finished the evening with a surprise. Friends that now live in Colorado stopped by to say "Hey" for a little while.

On Sunday morning, everyone was on the road home and Jed was back at work. This time he was working on a video that need mountain shots/fall shots so he let me tag along to get some of his work done.

Lil Hokie Bird made the trip too
We headed out on a drive to get the rest of what he need and we had a great time wandering and getting lost. We even found a few side trips to just hang out and enjoy the scenery.

We stopped in Clifton Forge as we were driving and it was there Fall Festival so we had to stop and check it on.

We made it as far as Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia before we started to head back. It was so much fun and we even stopped at Beartown State Park in West Virginia for a really quick hike.

Fall is just so much fun and we just love driving around and checking out all the leaves. Hopefully there will be more fall trips to come.

Wedding & Football

October 4th & 5th

As Jed traveled to Chapel Hill with the Hokies, I stayed behind to celebrate Sam & Erich's wedding in Buena Vista. I rode with Marc & Dorcus to the wedding and they stopped and introduced me to Boxcar Derby racing!

We had a great time at the wedding with friends, laughing, being silly and taking lots of selfies. It was a little chilly but we didn't care and the venue was so pretty.

On Sunday, Jed, Brian & I headed down to Charlotte to enjoy a stress free football game. We watched the Panthers beat the Chicago Bears. I think Brian & Jed loved being able to tailgate, go into the game whenever they wanted and didn't worry about who won or lost.

On our way home we found a fun little hole in the wall, Randy's BBQ in Troutman, NC to grab some dinner and watch part of the baseball playoffs.
